Like Wicked Game? Want to meet some of the creators? Come meet me and letterer Mindy “Indy” Steffen (Daily Misfortune), this Saturday at Book Expo USA at the Jacob Javits Center!

I will be at Booth 3151 peddling and signing copies of Wicked Game, along with the aforementioned Mindy Indy and other cool people like Joseph Carlough, Alitha Martinez, and Amy Chu (Vertigo Quarterly: Cyan, Girls Night Out).

Remember Booth 3151, the booth that rhymes with fun.

“What if you had to choose between friendship and duty? What would you do if the love of your life learned the magic that controls frigid storms and cruel snow? What if only you could destroy them? These are the questions plaguing Thomas, the village Sentinel, forced to defend his home against his friend Selene, the newly -crowned Ice Queen.”

The Skull King

Wilbert Stanton, editor of Exiles Magazine, said The Skull King was  “A refreshing and fun read. It reminded me that there are still true fantasy writers who refuse to conform to these new age fantasy archetypes that are diluting the genre.”

To order a copy for your Kindle click here. An excerpt is available after the jump. Thank you very much for your support. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did writing it. (more…)

He wrote Punisher for Marvel, adapted J.R.R. Tolkien’s “The Hobbit” into a comic book, and is currently writing GI Joe for IDW. I recently had a chance to talk with Mr. Dixon about how he created Bane, the process of turning a novel into a comic book, why there won’t be any “Lord of the Rings” comics, what CrossGen was really like, and his thoughts on Bane/Bain Capital controversy. WWE and TNA listen up. Since both organizations are trying to be drama rather than wrestling, I think it’s about time you learned something from drama. Something that will both create compelling television and give old-school wrestling fans what they want. And all you need to do is watch HBO’s “Game of Thrones.”

So what can a show about a world with dragons and long winters teach the writers at WWE and TNA? Why how to create a villain of course. All you have to do is look to Joffrey Baratheon. (more…)
