A compan

In 2000, CrossGen Comics launched. Founded by millionaire Mark Alessi, CrossGen sought to expand the comics industry by forgoing super-hero titles and focusing on the Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Victorian Mystery, and Sword and Sorcery genres. Each of CrossGen’s titles stood on their own but was tied to a greater mythology thanks to a Sigil, which was the source of many characters powers.

The “sigil bearers” were supposed to join forces against a cosmic threat called the Negation in the mini-series, NEGATION WAR that would cap off four years of stories. Unfortunately, CrossGen went out of business after the second issue shipped? So what would’ve happened? Only NEGATION WAR writer Tony Bedard knew, until now…

I reached out to Tony to find out his plans for NEGATION WAR. Who’d live? Who’d die? How would the series end? Click to find out.  (more…)

What if Serpentor never happened?

In 1986 GI JOE fans got a surprise. Cobra got an emperor in Serpentor. (a clone of the ancient world’s greatest military minds.) Serpentor’s creation would lead to the revelation that Cobra was a front for an ancient society of snake people. But, what if things were different

Before the Serpentor mandate, GI JOE Story-Editor Buzz Dixon was working on a status quo shattering episode called “The Most Dangerous Man in the World.” The episode would reveal the origin of Cobra and the man whose philosophy drove them. For obvious reasons, Buzz’s episode was passed aside and vanished into the realm of “What-if.” Until now!

After 30 years of sitting on the shelf, Buzz Dixon has turned “The Most Dangerous Man in the World” into a novel to be released this Fall. I talked to Buzz about what we can expect to see in his novelization.

Meglia

Meglia

Tyrannis’ sycophant and spy. A hunched over, skinny, Decimator who speaks with hiss and is always scheming. Meglia walks with a limp due to an injury in battle but that has only made him more dangerous because it gives him time to study and come up with ways to augment himself.

Meglia enjoys performing grotesque experiments on anything that moves on his own. He hopes to get the Princesses into his lab so he can learn the source of their power.

Will the Princesses get trapped in the horror that is Meglia’s lab? Back us on Kickstarter to find out!

Ultimus

Ultimus

Kind, compassionate, level headed, strong, and fierce. Ultimus is the embodiment of the Centurion cause. A determined leader who is out to preserve freedom from Tyrannis’ tyranny. The Centurions are loyal to Ultimus because not only is he strong and wise but he has a father-like compassion and is willing to sacrifice himself to protect his weakest soldier. Ultimus is a thinker and while he knows he has to stop Tyrannis he doesn’t understand how the war he’s been fighting since birth started. He wonders why he’s always fighting. He wonders why he can’t enter the Beyond. He wonders if he has a purpose other then fighting Tyrannis.

The alliance with the Princesses unlocks hidden memories in Ultimus. Memories about his creation and purpose in life.

Doe Ultimus get his questions answered? Back us on Kickstarter to find out!

Gunnar

Gunnar:

“Shoot first, ask questions later” is Gunnar’s motto. With his oversized gun, “Blasto,” Gunnar is the first to volunteer for any mission so long as he gets to shoot Decimators and Hunters.

Despite his quick trigger, Gunnar is extremely loyal to the Centurion cause. He’s willing to put his life on the line for his comrades but it also makes him paranoid and suspicious of everyone who isn’t a Centurion. Given his itchy trigger finger, this leads to problems.

Will the Princesses get mistaken for a Decimator Hunter by Gunnar? Back us on Kickstarter to find out.
