I am a huge fan of “Voltron: Defender of the Universe.” Growing up it was one of my favorite shows. Something about the cross between “Transformers” and “Legend of Zelda” resonated with me so much that the show continues to hold a special place in my heart. So much so, that “Voltron” has become part of my professional life. I served as the “Assistant Editor” on the Media Blasters DVD release and was the subject of my first published article in “Protoculture Addicts” (which you can order here). As you can see, the mighty robot’s and my paths have crossed quite a bit.
I guess it was inevitable we’d meet again at the annual New York Comic Convention. This year World Events Productions was there to promote their new show “Voltron Force” (currently airing Thursday nights at 8:30 on Nicktoons) which turns the Voltron dynamic on it’s head by making the team enemies of Galaxy Alliance they swore to protect.

Friday was my birthday and a tradition I have is seeing a movie with my Mom. This year my Dad had the day off so he came to. I decided the most appropriate movie for us to see was Transformers: Dark of the Moon. After all, the original, animated movie was always a favorite of family movie night. (At least for me) So was it the fun, family outing we used to enjoy during my youth? I thought so. (more…)

Flint Dille was born to write. His father was the publisher of the original “Buck Rogers” comic strip and he’s followed in the his footsteps as an acclaimed writer of both animation and video games. During the eighties, Flint served as both a writer and Story Editor on a little known series called “Transformers”, including the mini-series, “Five Faces of Darkness” that revealed the origin of the Transformers. Cobra Commander is dead!!!!! Long live the Commander…or whom ever is under the helmet. (Killed in GI Joe: Cobra #12) IDW Publishing’s version of Cobra is far different then the Cobra I grew up with. And Cobra Commander, lets just say the one who’s six feet under is not the first to hold that title and at the end of IDW’s “Cobra Civil War” someone new will be stepping into that title. But who? IDW Senior Editor and Comics Experience founder Andy Schmidt knows, and I attempt to pry it (and information about the Transformers “Chaos” event out of him in six questions.

With New York Comic Con starting tomorrow I’ve decided to get into the spirit by sharing with you my favorite comics. I’m going to start off with my favorite comics from Marvel.
