I’ve been a fan of these guys since I saw an ad for their album ‘Avenger’ in a metal magazine. If you’re looking for a good, old fashioned heavy metal band that harkens to the days of Iron Maiden and Manowar, ASKA is for you. Based in Texas, hopefully ASKA will be making a trip east to play the Big Apple very soon. To order their albums go on to iTunes or to their website Askaband.com or their myspace. Now for some live footage…

Off of “Avenger” here are the first track “Crown of Thorns”

I recently conducted an interview with one of my idols, Dave Gibbons, the artist of one of the greatest comics books of all time, Watchmen written by Alan Moore. Check it out here at Metalmachine.net. If you want to buy Watchmen go here.

My friend Steve and his friend Dahveed have created a new webtoon called “Supa Pirate Booty Hunt”, the story of pirate Captain Zack Stevers and his faithful companion, Daniel the Turtle as the sail the high seas looking for well…booty. Check out their website and check out Steve’s clothing company, Level 27, that he co-owns with Billy Martin from Good Charlotte, here. Also check out their myspace.

Now check out a couple of episodes of the hit cartoon.

Friends

“Do I look pretty?” Selene asked Elizabeth as she finished braiding her hair.
“Selene! How could you think you were anything but?” Elizabeth answered with her mouth hanging open as if she would answer any other way. “How about me?”
“Of course, now don’t hog the mirror, Lizzie.”
“You’ve hogged it all day.”
“Well it is mine.”
They hugged each other playfully as best friends do. They had met on their first day of school, and from that day forward, they were inseparable. (more…)

Much has been said about UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar’s post-fight antics after UFC 100 this past weekend. While they were definitely inappropriate by all standards of sportsmanship, Brock’s antics will not hurt the UFC.

Brock Lesnar has the potential to be for MMA what Mike Tyson was for boxing. He is an animal who tears his opponents apart without a second thought. His comments afterword are reminiscent of Tyson’s pre-fight commentary where he threatened to eat Lennox Lewis’s children. However, despite the controversy Tyson’s antics got people interested in his fight with Lewis and generated PPV buys. Another character is Floyd “Money” Mayweather. His antics got people interested in his fights and generated greater revenue. And lets not forget the interviews of Muhammed Ali. What do all these boxers have in common? They were athletes with personalities.

By reaching into his WWE background, Brock has given himself a personality; a cocky, remorseless monster that is seemingly unstoppable.

Brock Lesnar is what the UFC needs. Since the departure of Tito Ortiz, the UFC has yet to unveil a main eventer that people will pay to see, hoping that his next fight is the one where he’s humbled. And hopefully the one who humbles him will be the epitomy of class and sportsmanship. One thing’s for sure, I’ll be watching.

A nice, peaceful, children’s story I wrote. By the way if any artist wants to illustrate this please let me know.

Here’s my review of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

A second

My first comic book done with artist JoAnn Marie. (Check out her site at Jamartwork.com) For all you Twilight fans out there, it’s a classic vampire story told from the vampire’s point of view.
