Yes, you read that headline correctly.

When I started this site, if you told me I’d write about  Archie Comics I’d have called you insane. Even as a kid, I always thought Archie was the comic your parents wanted you to read. He was stuck in 1950. But time’s change and so do publishers.  These past few years Archie Comics has taken steps to show they’ve moved past “Sugar Sugar.”  “Afterlife with Archie,” (A zombie apocalypse starring Archie) reviving their super heroes as the Dark Circle, and killing off the main character, have shown that Archie is a company that is not afraid of taking risks. The latest move is a crossover with Predator. Published by Dark Horse Comics,  is “Archie vs. Predator” the most absurd crossover since “Archie meets the Punisher“? Lets find out.

Many are wondering what Disney’s acquisition of Lucasfilm means for the Star Wars comic books currently being published by Dark Horse Comics. Dark Horse President Mike Richardson has this to say:
“Dark Horse and LucasFilm have a strong partnership which spans over 20 years, and has produced multiple characters and story lines which are now part of the Star Wars lore. Star Wars will be with us for the near future. Obviously, this deal changes the landscape, so we’ll all have to see what it means for the future.” -Mike Richardson, President of Dark Horse Comics, Inc.

If you loved Game of Thrones and are looking for a comic book to satisfy your craving for fantasy fiction, Dark Horse’s brand new Conan the Barbarian series. Written by DMZ and Northlanders writer Brian Wood and drawn by Becky Cloonan, Dark Horse has decided to kick off the new series in grand fashion by adapting the legendary Conan story, Queen of the Black Coast. The Star Wars franchise has always extended beyond the movies. So much so that if the label “Star Wars” wasn’t on certain books, comic books, and video games, they might as well be called something else.
