Recently Chiller TV aired the special “Can You Survive a Horror Movie?” in which hosts Morgan West, Anthony Marks, and Annie Unnold and a panel of experts, including scream queen Suzi Lorraine along with several weapons, medical and survival specialists, give us a guided tour through a series famous horror scenarios. In addition the hosts partook in a series of challenges that were based on legendary horror movies. So, how was it?
The special reminded me of the Worst Case Scenario books. You learn some interesting things like the best place to be in a zombie apocalypse is at an airport or that the best way to kill a zombie is to take out the legs before destroying the head. You also learn why zombies go for the neck. Other interesting scenarios were how to deal with anacondas, bears, and sharks. You also learn what scares the experts the most.
The challenges were an interesting mix of “Double Dare” and “Fear Factor.” There was zombie wrestling, a human rat maze, escaping from being buried alive, disgusting eats, and getting a horror movie prop out of a disgusting mixture with your mouth. And trust me that last one is a doozy. Imagine trying to get Jason’s mask out of a fish tank filled with rotted meat and maggots. Yeah, it doesn’t sound pleasant, but it’s entertaining to watch.
Overall, horror fans should enjoy “Can You Survive a Horror Movie?” It’s provides an interesting insight into our favorite horror tropes.
